Thursday night's Old Timer's League: Jun 10

I never posted this, but thought you all might enjoy it

Wow, I have posted one of these catch-all gaming posts in a while now. Been so busy with everything else and helping my Daughter with homework each night that I haven't been able to get out much this last month.

But, I made it out the other night.

Like usual, we talk about lots of nothing and try to get a game in. We didn't even play this week, everyone brought armies, but nobody actually played... we just sat around and caught up. We are getting old.

One of the first things to come up was my take on Deep Striking and how it's not dangerous, only random. I know I'm in the minority here with my opinion, but I'm sticking to my guns.

Trying to be productive, I managed to snap some pics of my Saim-Hann force I've recently sold. I finished up the Warlocks and the Farseer this past week. I didn't realize how good looking a force like this is one the table until I assembled all the jetbikes for the picture. I'm just too lazy to try and learn how to use them effectively. There's just something about a 1500 point army composed of 11 Terminators that tugs at the heart strings for me.

One of the guys is trying his hand at some object source lighting for his Imperial Guard force he's putting together. I'm going to paint one of the models to show him what I would do to show what his guys might look like if there were crossing the battlefield at night to assault a city that has just been bombarded and is burning to the ground. I'll have another post on this model alone once I get the him painted up.

On the Storm Wardens front, my local game store, Game Vault has generously agreed (and I do mean generously) to help with prize support for a weekly drawing here on FTW. Once I get the details ironed out, I'll be posting all the juicy details on that. It will definitely be worth getting in on for this prize.

It's been a wild ride so far, I'm just about done building the Terminator Squad and I'll be posting pics of them this coming week. Lots of sculpting done on those guys. After that, it's onto the Command Squad Banner Bearer, and he's going to take some real painting work. The contest ends July 17th, so make sure you donate and get yourself a chance to win the entire army.

And last but not least, FTW tshirts. I've finally got the shipping details ironed out and they're for sale now! All the information for ordering can be found right here. Help support FTW and get yourself a shirt today.

That's it for this week. Next week, I plan on getting out again to do some painting with the guys.
