Really, is your blog worth it?

This little "editorial" has been floating around in my head for a little while now. The headline is the real question, "Is your blog worth it?"

Let me give you the short answer... Yes.

How do I know? It's simple.
The purpose of FTW is to promote other blogs and the information, tips, tricks and things that they've learned. It's done by Bloggers sending in links to stuff they post. Honestly though, only a handful of Bloggers do this on a regular basis.

Now I'll admit, my motives are selfish in some respects. I use FTW for myself as well. It allows me to have access to near limitless experiences and information that makes this hobby much easier and more fufilling for me.

I've seen cool 40k things that I would have never seen before and discovered hundreds of little tips and tricks I would have never known before. All of it helps. And it's here for everyone to see and use. No cost, no fees, you don't have to be a member or pay anything to get the information either.

The bottom line is this... your 40k blog is worth it. If you're putting the most into your site and you're sharing what's important to you with the rest of the 40k community, then it is.

Ron, From the WarpIf you've got any questions about something in this post, shoot me a comment and I'll be glad to answer. Make sure to share your hobby tips and thoughts in the comments below!

  1. You hit it on the head, Ron. I find that when lacking motivation, the blog is the perfect reason to get some stuff accomplished.

  2. FoxPhoenix: Bolgs are a huge source of motivation, no doubt about it.
And more often thatn not, it's where I get my next idea too.

  3. Fox/ guys are dead right. I am only really new to the whole blog scene but I found other peoples blogs to be so helpful and just generally motivate me (and my gaming group).

  4. I am going to have to disagree with you on this one Ron. You are not just helping the 40k community or yourself, you are helping the hobbyist community. With the help of your site and others connected to your blog I have learned a few things that I would not have known otherwise. And I have not played 40k in two years. But I still come over here because of the tips and tricks that you, and others, seem to be able to find/ demonstrate. So keep up the good work and let others know that this is about a hobby and not just what game you play.

  5. Steve: I never thought of it like that... maybe because I only play 40k. I suppose it is true that modeling/painting is the same regardless of whether you're painting a 40k or Fantasy or other type of miniature.
